In my previous life as a movie review for a major metropolitan newspaper (those things used to exist) Eastwood actually wrote a letter to the editor, which was published (of course), trashing me for a slam I gave his current movie at the time. It was "The Gauntlet." Must have really pissed him off.

Later, in my script writing life, my agent was arranging a meeting with him at Malpaso, his company, and I worried he'd remember I was the guy who wrote that review. The meeting never came off so maybe he DID remember my name.
