That blue block is on Facebook. One of my friends shared it along with its 4.6 million comments so I could not avoid it.

My first thought was no way I’m going to answer that let alone sample any of the millions of strangers listing their own famous encounters. The only comment visible to me was my Facebook friend saying “Richard Nixon (at his insistence)”.

That “at his insistence” made me wonder what was that all about?

If I ever meet my friend outside of Facebook I’m going to has to get details. (Maybe a question should be How many “friends” do you have on Facebook who are people you have never met?)

Anyway, since he was the sole friend replying to question I finally took that to be his insistence I answer too so he wouldn’t be alone.

Here’s what I wrote:

Since I has an entertainment writer for a major metropolitan newspaper for several years doing interviews and after that a television scriptwriter for even more years there were a lot of famous faces with whom I have spoken.

Paul Newman, at the Tavern on the Green in NYC, where he confessed he liked to start his day, every day, in a sauna with a beer and the New York Times. When he finished reading the Times and drinking the beer, he’d leave the sauna ready to go to work.
