Two-minute charts. Option price first. I prefer ITM since it is a day trade and I want to be in the money from the get-go but there is nothing wrong with ATM (a little more risk, a little bigger bang).

If both the calls and the puts are below their opening price because of time decay I will usually look for a low of the day buy based on SPY itself being above or below its open.
