What you're reading as downtrends in the NYMO and NYSI long term does not matter for this swing trading time frame. They were both up, which to say both on the long side (notice how gaps down and sell offs so often come back into the end of day when these buys are on). Also it might be prudent to skip puts all together if that is a trade against market breadth.
